Hot Aisle Introduction

Server racks in data centers are arranged in “hot aisles” using a “front-to-front, back-to-back” configuration. This layout aligns with the design principle where IT equipment like servers draws air from the front and exhausts it from the rear. It segregates cold and hot air zones, preventing warm/hot air expelled from front-row racks from mixing with cold air entering rear-row racks. This eliminates reduced cooling efficiency and enhances refrigeration effectiveness.

Hot Aisle Containment Solution

Double-Row Cabinet Containment Unit: Cabinet containment panels and end door containment panels feature high-quality cold-rolled steel sheet bent and welded frames externally, with 6mm hollow polycarbonate panels installed internally. The cabinet enclosure panels are fully prefabricated, eliminating the need for on-site welding or sealing. This mature product connects to the cabinet base and integrates with the ceiling at the top. Sealing components at the ceiling interface ensure airtightness between the vertical enclosure panel and ceiling, with adjustable height ranging from 0mm to 14mm. Frame surface coating matches the cabinet color. The modular design enables flexible and straightforward assembly. Side-by-side installation forms a complete enclosed wall, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal while preventing heat leakage.

Aisle doors are available in manual or electric versions, featuring a concealed door closer with automatic closing and door limit functions. The door frame incorporates a bottom-frame-free design for easy cart access. Aisle doors feature metal frames with 5mm tempered glass panels. LED light manual switches are installed on door frames, with reserved access control panel openings. Wiring is concealed. Each aisle includes a 7-inch touchscreen HMI at one end. Hot aisles have open ceilings for hot air return through the data center ceiling. Project focus: Hot aisle airtightness and thermal insulation.

Single-row cabinet aisle: One side houses IT cabinets, with the opposite side of the IT cabinet rear door featuring a closed false wall. The single-aisle enclosure wall is fabricated from high-quality cold-rolled steel plate, bent and welded, with a spray-painted finish matching the cabinet color. Its modular design structure is anchored to the floor at the base, enabling flexible and straightforward assembly. When installed side-by-side, it forms a complete enclosure wall. The overall structure is robust and aesthetically pleasing, while also preventing cold and hot air leakage. The hot aisle construction on the IT cabinet side mirrors the dual-aisle configuration. The upper section of the false wall connects to the enclosure baffle, which in turn links to the ceiling. Both ends of the single aisle feature double doors and end-wall baffles. Sealing components at the ceiling connection points ensure airtightness between the vertical top baffle and ceiling. These height-adjustable seals offer a range of 0mm to 14mm. The top of the hot aisle remains open, allowing hot air to return through the ceiling above the equipment room.

Frame and Accessories Design Specifications

Micro-module enclosed hot aisle with a typical internal clear width of 1800mm. Enclosed aisle components include:

Manual sliding doors constructed from aluminum profiles with PC panels, sheet metal door boxes, with customizable color options. The top enclosure frame utilizes 40x40/40x80 magnesium-aluminum alloy profiles (6063T5), while the channel doors employ 60x30 aluminum profiles. All aluminum frames feature the natural aluminum finish with 8mm-thick flame-retardant transparent polycarbonate panels embedded within. The hot aisle side frames employ a modular prefabricated design. The height of the enclosed frame modules can be customized upon request. Non-load-bearing sections of the frame use 2mm thick profiles.

Raised Floor Data Center Hot Aisle Solution

The hot aisle is connected via C-channel steel and seismic brackets, ensuring excellent stability while providing seismic resistance. Copper plates are installed using sheet metal supports and insulating columns for connection. Inside the aisle, wiring follows a galvanized conduit and junction box system for easy installation. Lighting utilizes 1200mm-long LED fixtures arranged in series.

The hot aisle construction on the IT cabinet side mirrors the dual-aisle configuration. The upper end of the false wall side connects to the cabinet closure panel, which in turn attaches to the ceiling. Single-aisle ends feature double doors and end closure panels. Sealing components are installed where closure panels meet the ceiling to seal the gap between the vertical top panel and the ceiling. These seals are height-adjustable within a range of 0mm to 14mm. The top of the hot aisle remains open, allowing hot air to return through the ceiling above the equipment room.
